Engaging with Jesus at universityfacebook (white)

The UWA Christian Union is a group of over 200 students on a mission to help students engage with Jesus at university.

We come from dozens of churches and denominations across Western Australia, but we’re united by our love for Jesus and our desire to see everyone grow in their love for him.

Whether you’ve known Jesus for years or are just starting to check him out, we’d love you to join us.

How can I get involved?

Faithful Thinking: Creation? Evolution?May 4, 7:00pmMurdoch UniversityFaithful Thinking: Creation? Evolution?

An evening with Professor Harvey Millar

Professor Millar is a Christian and has a PhD in Plant Biochemistry from ANU. He has held research positions at the University of Oxford (1997-1999) and the University of Western Australia (2000-present). Former Winthrop Professor, School of Biomedical, Biomolecular and Chemical Sciences, UWA, he is currently Professor, School of Molecular Sciences at UWA and the Director of the WA National ARC Centre of Excellence researching Plant Energy Biology.

Creation and evolution is a hot topic that Christians need to think through. How do we address the tension between our understanding of God as creator, and the widespread view that the world has arisen by chance?

Christianity is regularly attacked in the media and at university in almost every faculty.
In response, Christians can often be like rabbits in the headlights!
How do we talk with our non-Christian friends? How can we engage deeply with our studies as Christians? How can we respond to world-views so antagonistic to the Bible?
We all want to grow in our thinking and be strengthened to stand firm as Christian students, so Faithful Thinking is our annual inter-CU event designed to help us get on the front foot at uni.

Entry is by $2 donation. Supper provided. There will be a question time afterwards and books for sale.
