Time: Wednesdays 1 PM (starting week 3)
Location: Psychology Seminar Room G40 (North building)
Equip Common Hour is an interactive, seminar-style weekly session focused on developing our Christian character, convictions, and competence to serve Jesus. Each semester, we explore how the Bible shapes a specific area of Christian thinking and living.
This semester our topic will be: Contending for the Faith: Lessons from Church History
The Bible teaches us that the church has always been united in one faith: the faith built on the gospel of Jesus (Eph 4:3-6). We share in this faith because God has been faithfully guarding the gospel for over 2,000 years , through the courage of faithful believers. This semester we’ll see how those men and women preserved, defended, and passed on the faith despite persecution, heresy, and division, so we might learn how to contend for the faith today.
EQUIP
Electives
Equip Electives are group-based courses designed to grow your confidence, clarity, and conviction in serving Jesus. Equip Electives help you build the tools, habits, and theological depth to sustain you in serving Jesus at uni, church and beyond!

Know and Share the Gospel ($15)
If you had 60 seconds to explain the gospel to a non-Christian friend at the drop of a hat, would you know what to say? This elective will give you the confidence of knowing the gospel deeply and being able to explain it to others.

Reading the Bible
One-to-One (cost TBC)
Eph 4:15-16 teaches that Christ's body is grown and matured as we all do our part to speak the truth in love to one another. This elective will train you how to read the Bible with others in a one-to-one context, so we can take our part in helping each other grow.

Doctrine ($10)
A firm grasp of "sound doctrine" (2 Tim 1:13-14) is the basis of Christian growth and maturity, and one of the essential characteristics of the Christian leader. This elective explores the key teachings of the Christian faith. It makes clear what we are to believe, preserve, build our lives on, and pass on to others.
